Student Grant issues

The Faroese Board of Appeal handles appeals concerning decisions made by the Faroese student grant authority. These may include, for example, decisions on educational grants, travel grants, or project support.

Relevant Considerations

As a general rule, appeals to the Board must be submitted in writing and must be reasoned. It is important that the appealed decision and any other relevant documents are submitted along with the appeal. Please note that the usual deadline for submitting an appeal is 6 weeks from the date the decision is received. In special cases, this deadline may be extended if valid reasons are provided.

There is no fee for submitting an appeal to the Board in student grant issues. The Board aims to process all appeals as efficiently as possible, but it may take approximately 3 months before the case is fully prepared and ready for a decision. As the appellant, you will be kept informed of the progress of your case.

If you have any questions or doubts about whether a decision related to student grants can be appealed to the Faroese Board of Appeal, you are welcome to contact the Board, which is happy to provide guidance and answer questions.
